URLLC 2018について
移動体通信ネットワークが人の意思疎通に関する新たな要望への対応を迫られ、さまざまな業界で技術面の重要な変化が進むなか、医療や自動車、工業、エネルギー、エンターテインメントなど今後の成長が見込まれる多くの業界で、伝送技術の信頼性が安全性を確保するための極めて重要な要素として認識されるようになっています。また、人と人、人と機械、機械と機械を結ぶ通信システムでアプリケーションを有効に機能させ、双方向でのやり取りを実現するうえで、低遅延も重要な意味を持つようになっています。しかし、高信頼性と低遅延を両立させたネットワークを実現するには、設計、標準化、費用、工学面の重要課題を解決しなければなりません。

この会議の目的は、さまざまな業界の企業、移動体通信事業者、ソリューションプロバイダー間の対話を促すことにより、信頼性と遅延の問題に関して各業界の企業が重視する点や現実的な水準についての実用的な識見を示すとともに、費用面や工学面の負担を考慮しつつ、無線ネットワークインフラストラクチャの一部あるいは全部でそれらの識見を実現していくための手段を探求することにあります。

Andy Sutton
Andy Sutton is a Principal Network Architect within BT, he is responsible for E2E 5G network architecture and mobile backhaul strategy and architecture. Andy has over 30 years of experience within the telecommunications industry, mainly in radio access, transmission and transport network strategy, architecture and design. Andy's research interests include; distributed and centralised RAN architectures and protocols, RAN dimensioning and QoS, mobile backhaul ,microwave and millimetre wave radio systems along with synchronisation and time distribution in telecommunications networks. During his career Andy has worked for Mercury Communications Ltd, Orange, France Telecom Group, H3G and EE. Andy is a Visiting Professor with the Department of Computing, Science and Engineering at the University of Salford and a research mentor at the 5G Innovation Centre at the University of Surrey. Andy is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Fellow of the Institute of Telecommunications Professionals and Fellow of the British Computer Society. Andy contributes to International telecommunications standardisation activities and several industry forums.

Javan Erfanian
Javan Erfanian is Distinguished Member of Technology at Bell Mobility, Canada, and primes end to end wireless technology strategic direction. He has been the Co-Lead of NGMN 5G initiative, the Chief Editor of the NGMN 5G White Paper, and the Lead of the NGMN Verticals Requirements initiative. Javan grew up in Iran and studied at the Universities of Calgary and Toronto in Canada, with research publications and many citations. He has taught many academic courses. Javan was a recipient of IEEE Millennium Medal in 2000, an author and editor of IEEE Communications Society Wireless Engineering Book of Knowledge, and an IEEE Comsoc Distinguished Speaker for many years.

Berna Sayrac
Berna Sayrac is a senior research expert in Orange Labs. She received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey, in 1990, 1992 and 1997, respectively. She worked as an Assistant Professor at METU between 2000 and 2001, and as a research scientist at Philips Research France between 2001 and 2002. Since 2002, she is working at Orange Labs. Her research activities and interests include Device-to-Device communications, Machine Type Communications, Heterogeneous Networks, spectrum and 5G radio access technologies. She has taken responsibilities and been active in several FP7 projects, such as FARAMIR, UNIVERSELF, and SEMAFOUR. She was the technical coordinator of the Celtic+ European project SHARING on self-organized heterogeneous networks, and also the technical manager of the H2020 FANTASTIC-5G project. Currently, she is the coordinator of the research program on RAN design and critical communications in Orange. She holds several patents and has authored more than fifty peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and conferences. She also acts as expert evaluator for research projects, as well as reviewer, TPC member and guest editor for various conferences and journals.

Ilaria Thibault
Ilaria Thibault has a Ph.D. degree in Information and Communication Technologies. She is currently working as principal researcher in Vodafone Group R&D focusing on the early development of 5G technologies and connected car solutions. She is leading the NGMN Task Force on 5G Extreme Requirements and is 5GAA delegate for the use cases and requirements working group.

Alain Servel
Since 1992, Alain Servel has been a Research and Innovation Engineer at PSA Peugeot Citroen, in the area of Advanced Driving Assist and Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems with a particular expertise on embedded radars and communicating sensors. He has been directly involved in developments of several applications like Distance Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control or Lane Change Assist.

Linus Thrybom
Linus Thrybom received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1991. From 1992 to 1997 he was with the ABB Industrial Systems, Västerås, Sweden, as HW/SW design engineer of embedded systems and communication devices. From 1998 to 2008, he was with the Bombardier Transportation, Västerås, Sweden, as project leader on train communication and control systems. Since 2008 he is with the ABB Corporate Research, Västerås, Sweden, where he in 2011 became Principal Scientist, and in 2015 he became manager of the Industrial Communication team. Since 2016 he is manager of the Industrial IoT research team. His research interests include industrial communication, system architecture, embedded systems and Internet of things.

I am a consultant urological surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest hospitals in the UK. In addition, I am an academic clinical lecturer at King's College London. I have completed my urological training under the supervision of professor Dasgupta, and I was part of the team that pioneered the robotic surgery programme at Guy's Hospital. I'm part of the team developing 'Touch and Image Guided Robotic Surgery: A randomised trial to compare the use of prostate MR derived 3D models during robotic radical prostatectomy to improve outcome' (TIGERS project). This is a novel trial which will be double blind and will investigate the potential perceived advantage of 3D models in minimising the risk of positive margins at robotic assisted radical prostatectomy.

Andreas Mueller
Andreas Mueller is a Senior Expert and Project Manager within the Corporate Research Department of Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany. In his current role, he is coordinating Bosch's research activities in the area of future industrial connectivity infrastructures, with a special focus on wireless communications and emerging 5G technologies. This is done in close collaboration with various business units and external partners in order to ensure a high practical relevance. In addition to that, he is chairing the "Task Force 5G" of the ZVEI in Germany, which has the goal to consolidate and represent the interests of the industrial automation industry with respect to 5G.

Adrian began his career in the traditional fixed telecommunications area within British Telecom but in 1984 I joined the Radio Regulatory Department of the DTI where he spent many happy years involved in radio investigation activities. This included a substantial amount of work with mobile radio systems. He began working for ETSI in 1992 when he moved from the South of England to the South of France. Since joining ETSI he has worked with many different Technical Committees and have been Secretary of the former ETSI Technical Assembly and more recently the ETSI Board. As Secretary to the Board he was heavily involved in the discussions which led to the creation of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project 3GPP). He currently head the Mobile Competence Centre (MCC) which has the primary role of supporting 3GPP.

Volker Ziegler serves as Head of 5G Leadership and Chief Architect of Nokia Mobile Networks. He leads and orchestrates the Nokia e2e 5G program with special emphasis on 5G era technology, innovation and architecture; drives roadmap alignment for 5G differentiation and growth across Nokia Mobile Networks and other business groups in close cooperation with Nokia e2e solution and Mobile Networks sales; he assures landing zone for Bell Labs innovation and; maximizes 5G impact with customers, partners and SDOs.
He has previously led Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) strategy and business portfolio and, the global business development, sales and operations strategy and transformation of NSN. Prior to that, Volker has successfully served as the Head of the North East Region of NSN. This role has included the profit and loss responsibility as well as full accountability for operational sales and services for one of the seven world regions of NSN including Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and Turkey.

Osman Yilmaz
Osman N. C. Yilmaz is a Team Leader and Senior Researcher at Ericsson Research in Finland, mainly focusing on 5G control plane and architecture. He has worked in global radio access system research and standardization projects since 2008, and is the inventor/co-inventor of ~60 patent families, as well as the author/co-author of ~30 international scientific publications and numerous standardization contributions. Previous positions include NSN Research and Nokia Research Center, where he received the Nokia Top Inventor Award in 2013. Osman N. C. Yilmaz pursued MSc and PhD degrees at Aalto University, Finland.

Paul Copping
Paul Copping is Chief Innovation Officer at Digital Greenwich, serving the Royal Borough of Greenwich, population 270,000. His role is to engage with industrial partners to deploy integrated technology solutions that will result in more innovative, agile and cheaper services for Greenwich citizens. Paul is currently working on connected and autonomous vehicles; 5G wireless; and a collaborative smart city procurement framework. Paul has an MBA in Marketing from Cass Business School and an MA in Spanish and French from the University of Cambridge. His earlier career background is in telecoms (Nortel, BT) and mobility (Transport Research Laboratory) with a focus on corporate development and innovation management. He is a Director of the City Protocol Society.
